Lawsuits Filed Against Jamie Foxx and Axl Rose Alleging Sexual Assault in New York
Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N’ Roses, and popular American actor Jamie Foxx are currently facing serious accusations of sexual assault. Lawsuits were recently filed against both individuals in New York just before the statute of limitations expired.
Sheila Kennedy, a model and actress, alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Axl Rose in 1989 without her consent, stating that she felt overpowered during the incident. The legal filings are based on the New York Adult Survivors Act, which allows for the litigation of sexual assault cases that occurred too long ago.
In Jamie Foxx’s case, the accuser, known as Jane Doe, claims that Foxx forcefully and without consent touched her offensively by groping her breasts and genitals at a rooftop bar in Manhattan in 2015. Similar to the Rose case, this filing is also made under the New York Adult Survivors Act.
Both cases are seeking punitive damages and have requested jury trials. Axl Rose’s case against Kennedy alleges that he abused his celebrity status and used his authority to manipulate, control, and brutally assault her. Kennedy’s lawyers have stated that Rose forced anal sex on her and that she feared bodily harm if she objected.
Axl Rose, who is 61 years old, has yet to respond to the claims made against him in the media. It is reported that Rose and Kennedy met in a nightclub, and the incident took place in a hotel room in New York.
The complainant in Jamie Foxx’s case has expressed that she expects the physical harm and emotional distress she experienced to have a lasting impact on her life.
Jamie Foxx, known for his success in comedy, acting, and music, including winning an Oscar for his performance in “Ray,” now finds himself caught up in a challenging legal battle.
Recently, there have been several legal actions filed under the New York Adult Survivors Act, including R&B singer Cassie’s rape allegation against rapper Sean Combs.
Despite the initial legal actions, all parties involved have expressed a desire to reach a settlement, although the exact amount is unknown at this time.
