May Edochie’s Lawyer Refutes Claims of Apology Letter to Yul, Says Divorce Still Ongoing

May Edochie’s legal team has firmly denied recent claims that the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie issued an apology letter amid their ongoing divorce proceedings.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, her lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, dismissed the reports as “completely false” and reaffirmed that May remains focused on her legal actions, including a suit for damages related to adultery.

“These false claims appear to be a desperate attempt to twist the narrative. May did not send any apology letter to Yul Edochie. In fact, if anyone should be apologizing, it is Yul himself,” Ugwuonye stated.

The lawyer emphasized that May has not considered reconciling with Yul, who publicly announced a polygamous relationship with actress Judy Austin. Ugwuonye also noted that Yul had previously apologized to May following the public fallout.

“This latest fabrication is part of a pattern of misinformation meant to sway public opinion. It will not affect the legal process already in motion,” he added.

The statement has sparked further discussion online, as fans of May Edochie—popularly known as “May Nation”—expressed support and called for an end to what they described as attempts to manipulate public perception.

The controversy comes amid heightened tensions between the Edochie family and social media users following Yul’s decision to marry a second wife and his continued public defense of the relationship.

May Edochie’s lawyer urged the public to disregard the rumoured letter and advised parties involved to stop the spread of misleading narratives, stating that “the facts will prevail in court.
