May Edochie’s Lawyer Speaks Out: Yul Must Co-Parent, Judy Has No Legal Role

Emeka Ugwuonye, the legal counsel representing May Edochie, has clarified the legal obligations surrounding her relationship with estranged husband Yul Edochie, particularly regarding co-parenting their children.

In a post shared via Instagram on Monday, July 14, Ugwuonye explained that co-parenting is not a matter of choice but a legal necessity.

He stated that both parents are already engaged in a cooperative arrangement where Yul contributes to school fees and maintains full access to their children.

“Yes, May and Yul have children together. They will co-parent. Why is that driving anybody crazy?” he wrote. Ugwuonye emphasized that successful co-parenting relies on mutual cooperation and communication something many online commentators fail to understand.

He continued, “Yul is supporting the children financially and has unfettered access to them. That is what co-parenting means. It requires the parents to cooperate, and without that, it doesn’t work.”

The lawyer addressed the confusion and misconceptions circulating online, stressing that legal frameworks leave no room for debate co-parenting is mandatory.

Ugwuonye also responded to public speculation about Judy Austin’s role in May’s children’s lives, stating clearly that she holds no legal relationship with them.

“As for Judy, she is not in any legal position concerning May’s children. There is no foundation for any interaction between May and Judy,” he explained.

However, he added that this could change if Judy legally marries Yul Edochie, in which case she would assume the role of a stepmother.

Wrapping up, Ugwuonye dismissed the noise from social media, saying, “People can say whatever they like, but the law remains the law, and facts are facts.”
