Mohbad’s Brother Adura Shares Heart-Wrenching Details of Singer’s Final Moments, Raises Fresh Questions
Nearly two years after the tragic passing of Nigerian music star Mohbad, new emotional revelations have surfaced this time from someone deeply close to him: his younger brother, Adura.
In a candid interview with Object TV, Adura recounted the heartbreaking series of events that led to the singer’s untimely death on September 12, 2023. According to him, the trouble started shortly after a performance in Ikorodu on September 10.
Tensions rose following a confrontation involving a close associate, Primeboy, who Adura claimed was visibly intoxicated. An argument escalated into a physical altercation between Primeboy and Mohbad, resulting in what initially seemed to be a minor injury to Mohbad’s hand.
The next day, Mohbad complained of severe pain. With his regular nurse unavailable, another nurse was called in while the family was preparing to celebrate Mohbad’s son Liam’s five-month birthday. After receiving an injection, Mohbad’s condition suddenly deteriorated. He became unresponsive, gestured for help, and was rushed through traffic on a motorcycle in a desperate bid to reach the hospital.
“We got to the hospital and after about 15 minutes, the doctor came out and said he was gone,” Adura recalled. “We then rushed him to another hospital, but they refused to admit him, saying he was brought in dead.”
The sorrow deepened when the family returned home. Adura revealed that in an attempt to preserve the body, a close friend, Darosha, suggested placing salt on Mohbad’s chest a cultural practice that later sparked rumors of embalming. The most controversial twist came when Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, insisted on a midnight burial in Ikorodu, despite resistance from other family members.
“We didn’t agree, but he insisted,” Adura said. “So we buried him the next day.”
His detailed account has reignited public concern over the mysterious circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death and burial, calling for renewed scrutiny and justice.
