Mohbad’s Close Friend ‘Spending’ Denies Paternity Rumours Surrounding Late Singer’s Son, Liam
Spending, a close associate of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has publicly addressed and denied swirling rumours suggesting he is the biological father of Mohbad’s son, Liam Aloba.
The controversy erupted after a blogger’s viral post on social media pointed out a supposed physical resemblance between Spending and Liam, reigniting public debate about the child’s paternity an issue that has lingered since Mohbad’s sudden death in 2023.
Taking to his Instagram story, Spending dismissed the allegations as false, harmful, and disrespectful to the memory of his late friend.
He clarified that he never had any romantic relationship with Mohbad’s widow and emphasized that the rumour lacks any factual basis.
“I’ve been seeing several bloggers insinuating I’m Liam’s father. This is not a joke!! To set the record straight, I’m not his father, and I never had any affectionate relationship with his mother. Y’all need to stop spreading these false narratives,” he wrote.
In a further bid to silence the rumour mill, Spending expressed his willingness to undergo a DNA test if needed to confirm the truth.
“I’m happy to have a DNA test done if required,” he added.
The paternity of Liam has remained a contentious topic among fans and online commentators, with calls for clarity and respect for the family’s privacy continuing to dominate the discourse.
