Mohbad’s Widow Accuses Father-in-Law of Estate Mismanagement Amid Disputed Land Purchase

Omowunmi Aloba, widow of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Mohbad Aloba, has accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of mismanaging her late husband’s estate, including a disputed land purchase.

The allegations come amid an ongoing conflict between Omowunmi and her in-laws over various issues, including the paternity of her son, Liam.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Omowunmi claimed that her father-in-law wanted to control my husband’s properties—everything that belonged to him—or he would go all out to destroy my life.

The dispute has escalated since Mohbad’s untimely death in September 2023, with both parties failing to reach an agreement on several matters:

DNA Test Controversy: Despite a July 2024 court order for a paternity test, the process has stalled due to disagreements over testing facilities.

Property Control: Omowunmi alleges her father-in-law is attempting to seize control of Mohbad’s assets.

The widow claims to receive daily death threats, stating, We no longer feel safe.

Joseph Aloba has yet to respond to these latest allegations. The ongoing conflict has drawn significant public attention, with fans of the late singer closely following developments.

Legal representatives for both parties have exchanged multiple letters, but a resolution remains elusive. The situation continues to evolve, with potential implications for the management of Mohbad’s legacy and the welfare of his young son.
