Mother Heartbroken as Son Returns in Alarming Condition After Visiting His Father
A Nigerian single mother has taken to social media to share her devastation after discovering her son in a severely weakened condition following a visit to his father.
The woman, who has cared for her son Wisdom alone for 15 years, said she allowed the teenager to visit his father after he repeatedly pleaded to see him. According to her, Wisdom was healthy, energetic, and fully independent before the visit on September 8, 2019.
She stated that shortly after the visit, the boy’s father relocated with him and denied her access. She claimed her calls and WhatsApp messages went unanswered for months, leaving her distressed and concerned about her son’s wellbeing.
On February 19, 2021, Wisdom’s father finally contacted her saying the boy was unwell and needed her attention. But when she arrived, she was shocked to find her once lively son frail, unable to walk properly, and struggling with basic tasks. She said she was heartbroken and took him home the same day.
The mother later shared a video on TikTok, showing Wisdom’s current condition and appealing for public assistance. She explained that she has taken him to several hospitals and even sought spiritual help, but none of the treatment attempts have restored his health. She admitted that she still does not know what caused his sudden decline.
In her emotional narration, she said she had been a devoted mother since birth and only allowed the visit because her son insisted. She described the moment she saw him again as one of the most painful days of her life, saying she cried uncontrollably and has been struggling to find help ever since.
Her story has drawn widespread sympathy online, with many Nigerians calling for support and urging authorities to investigate what may have happened to the teenager.
