“Music money is like ritual; even if I stop singing, the music will keep paying” – Shallipopi

Popular Nigerian artiste, Shallipopi, renowned for his hit song “Elon Musk,” shed light on how his financial status has undergone a transformative change due to his considerable music earnings.

The podcast host delved into Shallipopi’s approach to money management, inquiring about his strategy for balancing supporting family members, saving for personal needs, and establishing boundaries amidst demands from friends and relatives.

“How do you strike a balance between supporting family members, saving for yourself, and discerning when to set limits?” the host inquired.

In response, Shallipopi acknowledged the tremendous profitability of the music industry and described his financial resources as seemingly inexhaustible, even after making generous contributions to family and friends.

He revealed that it was only this year that he truly grasped the value of music, thanks to the success of his recent chart-topping tracks.

“Music money is an enigma; it’s like a ritual. There is an unimaginable amount of wealth in music that defies understanding. Even if you’re an artist who suddenly emerges and your song becomes a massive hit within a month, there’s no need to worry.

As for me, I don’t really worry about balancing everything. If my family needs something, I provide for them because I know that the music won’t cease. Even if I were to stop singing, the music I’ve already released will continue to generate income for me.”
