My Office is a Dream Come True” – NANS National VP External
By Chiekezie Emmanuel
The National Vice President of External Affairs of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comr. Kenechukwu Aneke, shares his leadership journey and experiences in student politics. During a courtesy visit, he revealed to Esut Monitor Newspaper the hurdles he’s overcome.
According to him, student leadership is a training ground for circular politics, both nationally and internationally. It’s about struggle, endurance, and courageous politics. Aneke stated, “My assumption of the office of Vice President External Affairs is a dream come true. This is my fourth attempt at a leadership position in NANS, and I’m grateful it finally worked out.”
He disclosed that he had previously run for positions such as Zonal Secretary General (covering all South-Eastern states), National Financial Secretary, and Vice President Special Duties. “The fourth time was the charm,” he said, “and I won the position of Vice President External Affairs at the national level.”
Aneke expressed gratitude to God for the victory and thanked the NANS senators (Student Union Presidents of over 300 public schools in Nigeria) who elected him during the national convention held at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja. He also appreciated the NANS President, Comrade Olushola Lodoja, and other executive members.
