Super Falcons forward Jennifer Echegini has shared a lighthearted yet cautionary moment that occurred while the team was on a bus in Lagos.
In a viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Echegini who scored the third goal in Nigeria’s win against Morocco in the WAFCON final was seen trying to open the team bus window to greet excited fans gathered outside.
However, she was quickly warned by a teammate not to open it, citing the possibility of phone snatching, a common concern in some parts of Lagos.
“Asisat, me I wan open window,” Echegini said in the video, addressing teammate Asisat Oshoala.
A teammate responded promptly in Pidgin:
“No open nah, na Lagos you dey. Them fit thief your phone.”
