NEF to FG: Act Urgently Against Terrorists, Bandits Threatening Nigeria’s Peace

The Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship (NEF) has called on the Federal Government to take decisive action against terrorists, bandits, and violent militias threatening national security and unity.

In a communiqué issued at the end of its 60th Anniversary Summit held in Abuja from November 3 to 6, 2025, the Christian body expressed deep concern over what it described as the “painful reality of religious and ethnic-motivated terrorism and violence” in several parts of the country.

“The Nigeria Evangelical Fellowship has reflected soberly on the painful reality of religious and ethnic-motivated terrorism, violence, and recurring attacks on communities and citizens across various regions of our nation,” the communiqué read. “We urge the Federal Government to take urgent action to address the growing threat of terror and insecurity in Nigeria.”

The group urged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to arrest, prosecute, and disarm all terrorist groups, bandits, and militias operating within Nigerian communities, stressing that national security and stability must be prioritized.

The call comes amid renewed domestic and international debates over allegations of a so-called “Christian genocide” in Nigeria a claim the government continues to dismiss.
