“Nigeria would be better is what I grew up hearing and now I’m in my fifties” -Ayo Makun

Ayo Makun, a well-known Nigerian comedian, actor, and producer, who is commonly referred to as AY, has expressed his criticism towards the current situation in Nigeria.

In a post shared on his Instagram, AY conveyed his disappointment that despite growing up with the hope of seeing Nigeria progress, the country’s condition seems to be deteriorating as he approaches his fifties. He lamented the lack of improvement and questioned the repetitive nature of our existence, drawing parallels to the movie “Groundhog Day.”

AY further raised concerns about the extent to which individuals are able to meet their basic needs, questioning the number of people in Nigeria who have sufficient income to cover their essential requirements.

“Nigeria go better us what one grew up hearing. I’m still hearing it in my fifties. What kind of Groundhog Day existence do we live in in this country though? The more things seem to change, they remain the same.

How many of us do have wages more than sufficient enough to cover the bare cost of living in Nigeria?”.

In the comments section, many people agreed with him and expressed their shared concerns about the challenging situation in the country.
