Nigerian-Canadian Chef Sets New Guinness World Record with 300-Hour Cookathon
A Nigerian lady living in Canada, Chef Zainab Oladipo, has set a remarkable new cooking record after completing a grueling cookathon that lasted over 300 hours non-stop.
The chef who embarked on this monumental culinary feat from July 29 to August 12, 2025 is now waiting for Guinness World Records to officially certify her achievement.
Oladipo aimed to prepare dishes representing cuisines from all 195 countries, cooking an astounding 15,500 dishes during the marathon.
Her goal was not only to break the record but also to celebrate global cultures, promote community and foster unity through food.
Throughout the marathon, free meals were served to attendees and the event also aimed to raise awareness and support for families facing food insecurity in both Canada and Nigeria.
The chef’s commitment and passion have inspired many especially as she used the record attempt as a platform to “feed, inspire, and give back.”
The cooking endeavor showcased Oladipo’s endurance and culinary skills and highlighted her inspiring story as a Nigerian immigrant thriving in Canada.
