Nigerian Chef Rita Ifeyinwa Sets Sights on Guinness World Record with Largest Ukodo and Beans
Nigerian culinary expert, Rita Nnagbogu Ifeyinwa, has announced her ambitious plan to set a Guinness World Record for cooking the largest pot of Ukodo (yam pepper soup) and beans.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of Hilda Baci’s record-breaking achievement for the largest pot of jollof rice, held on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos a high-profile event attended by celebrities including Funke Akindele.
Rita’s record attempt is scheduled for September 17, 2025, in Asaba, Delta State, and is already receiving significant support.
Ossai Ovie Success, who shared the announcement on Facebook, revealed that ₦20 million has already been pledged to kickstart preparations. In his post, he stated:
“I just reached out to the CEO of Korrect Logistics, Amb Abolo Henshell, and the Onishe of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom, High Chief Ibori Ubulu. They will be contributing N20M to support her preparations. I’ll be mobilizing more support ahead of the event.”
Social media reactions have been overwhelmingly supportive. Sasu Neorse commented, “Jealousy aside, let her enjoy her achievement. God bless her attempt!”
Eunice added, “Why can’t Hilda enjoy her shine? There are so many ways to break records, Nigerians keep innovating.” Temisan and Joy also expressed excitement, pledging to witness and cheer on the historic feat.
