Nigerian Influencer Papaya Ex Jets to Dubai to Purchase iPhone 17 Pro Max Worth ₦4.5 Million

Popular Nigerian influencer, Papaya Ex, has stirred massive reactions online after revealing that she flew all the way to Dubai just to purchase the new iPhone 17 Pro Max for a staggering ₦4.5 million.

Sharing the news on social media, Papaya expressed both excitement and disbelief over her own decision, humorously asking if she was “crazy or simply living her best life.”

According to the content creator, her decision to travel to Dubai was influenced by a previous bad experience with a refurbished phone bought in Nigeria. She explained that the phone failed her during a business trip to China, causing both data and financial loss an ordeal that made her vow never to buy gadgets outside an official Apple Store again.

“I don’t blame myself at all. Once beaten, twice shy. Since then, if it’s not from an Apple store, count me out,” she wrote.

Papaya described her experience at the Apple Store in Dubai as “madness,” saying she waited nearly three hours in line amid a sold-out frenzy. She likened the queue to a visa renewal line and noted that Nigerians were buying the high-end device like “pure water.”

“People were buying like Apple was sharing free akara,” she joked, adding that even accessories such as screen guards and cases were quickly sold out. She eventually secured the 2TB iPhone 17 Pro Max, complete with a case, screen protector, and AirPods.

In a playful twist, Papaya questioned whether she made the right choice, asking her followers if she should have invested the money in a Toyota Camry instead.

Her post has since sparked widespread debate on social media, with many praising her for prioritizing quality and authenticity, while others criticized the extravagance of spending millions on a smartphone and flying abroad just to buy it.
