Nigerian Man Laments Loss of PS5 and ₦300K in Robbery Shortly After Moving Out

A Nigerian man has shared his frustration online after falling victim to a robbery shortly after moving out of his father’s house.

The man, identified as Uncle Emeka and known by his handle YANKEE GADGETS .ng (@yankeeplug_), revealed that robbers stole his PlayStation 5 console and ₦300,000 in cash, which he had kept in his wardrobe.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Emeka expressed regret over saving the money rather than spending it, noting that the stolen cash was intended for personal use. “Got robbed, stole PS5 and 300k cash from my wardrobe.

I no dey save money again, the rest of this year na for balling. Money wey I no gree spend dem don thief am!!” he wrote, lamenting the growing insecurity in the country.

Emeka added that while the cash loss was significant, it was the PlayStation 5 that hurt the most. “Na the PS5 pain me pass, I never even finish some missions 😭,” he shared, emphasizing the emotional weight of losing his gaming console.

The incident came soon after he moved out of his father’s home, adding to his distress. The robbery also follows a string of recent attacks in Abuja, including the tragic death of Arise TV anchor Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu on September 29, 2025.
