Nigerian Military Saves 318 Abducted Citizens, Arrests Criminals Across the Country

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that Nigerian troops rescued 318 kidnapped victims and apprehended 74 suspects involved in terrorism, oil theft, and other criminal activities during November.

The figures were disclosed by Maj Gen Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, during a briefing in Abuja.

In addition, 69 terrorists and their family members surrendered to security forces in the North-East, reflecting the effectiveness of ongoing military operations.

Troops also thwarted oil theft valued at over N217 million and dismantled multiple illegal refining sites, recovering 201,700 litres of crude oil and 88,177 litres of Automotive Gas Oil from 16 illicit operations.

The DHQ commended the military for their efforts and called on the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies. Maj Gen Onoja assured Nigerians that all measures were being taken to secure the safe release of students recently abducted, emphasizing ongoing efforts to restore peace in affected areas.

These operations come amid increasing pressure on security forces to respond to mass abductions, highlighting the importance of military vigilance and public cooperation in combating crime and terrorism across Nigeria.
