Nigerian Stars Burna Boy and Asake Shine with Multiple MTV VMA Nominations
New York, August 6, 2025 – Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Asake are making significant marks on the global stage with two nominations each at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
They stand out as the most-nominated African artists among a competitive international field.
Burna Boy received nods for his song “Higher” in the Video For Good category and for “TaTaTa,” a collaboration with Travis Scott, in the Best Afrobeats category.
