“Nigerians Must Go” – Ghanaians Stage Protest in Accra Over Crime and Missing Children

Tensions flared in Accra, Ghana, as a group of protesters took to the streets demanding the expulsion of Nigerians from the country.

The demonstration, which held over the weekend, was fueled by growing concerns about rising crime rates and a series of unresolved cases involving missing children.

Chanting slogans like “Nigerians Must Go,” the protesters accused Nigerian nationals of being behind a wave of criminal activity. Placards were raised citing safety concerns, especially for children, and urging the government to take decisive action.

While the protest remained largely peaceful, the message sparked debate across social media. Some Ghanaians expressed support for the demonstrators, saying they were only calling for protection of citizens, while others condemned the rally as xenophobic and dangerous.

So far, Ghanaian authorities have not released an official statement, but security has been reportedly tightened in areas with large immigrant populations to prevent unrest.

The protest has stirred fresh diplomatic concerns between the two West African nations, with many calling for calm and deeper investigation rather than sweeping accusations.
