No Regrets Supporting Tinubu, Declares Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has expressed that he holds no regrets for his support of President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.

Before his ministerial role, Wike served as the governor of Rivers State for eight years with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Following the elections, he was invited by Tinubu to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration as FCT Minister.

During a thanksgiving service held in Ochigba, Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas, Wike expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his trust in him.

He revealed that he faced intimidation for backing Tinubu before the elections, but assured that he would make the same choice again if given the chance.

In response to accusations of land grabbing made against him by residents in Abuja, Wike dismissed these claims as ridiculous, stating that those occupying government land are required to comply with regulations or face revocation of their plots.

“As the person responsible for land management in Abuja, it is laughable to accuse me of grabbing what I manage,” Wike affirmed.

He underscored the importance of proper conduct in land affairs and emphasized that rightful procedures will be upheld, regardless of criticism or propaganda.
