Nollywood Star Mercy Johnson Speaks Out Over Sammy West’s Detention

Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has urged authorities to release Sammy West, the brother of actress Regina Daniels, following his recent arrest amid the ongoing marital disputes between Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

Taking to social media, Mercy Johnson condemned the detention as unjust and raised concerns over Sammy’s well-being while in custody. She questioned the legality of the arrest, highlighting that he was allegedly denied access to legal counsel, food, and water.

Reports indicate that Sammy West was flown from Lagos to Abuja and reportedly taken to court directly from the airport.

His family claims that his detention may be intended to pressure Regina Daniels to return to her husband’s home.

In a heartfelt social media post, Mercy Johnson wrote: “The worst form of injustice is pretended justice. A child was arrested, no one can or has been allowed to see him for two days.

He was flown from Lagos to Abuja…How did we get here? Nigeria…Wow #whereissamuel #freesamuelojelagewu.”

The post has sparked public debate on social media about legal fairness, human rights, and the accountability of influential individuals in Nigeria, drawing support from fans and fellow celebrities.
