Notorious ATM Fraudster Caught in Uyo Following CCTV Footage Identification

In Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, a notorious ATM fraudster identified as Chibuzor Amaechi was arrested following his capture on CCTV footage at a bank premises on Abak Road.

The arrest came after distress calls from two Uyo-based banks alerted the police to his fraudulent activities involving the swapping of ATM cards to make illicit withdrawals.

Upon investigation seven different ATM cards from various banks were recovered from Amaechi who confessed to operating alone primarily in Rivers and Akwa Ibom States.

A victim positively identified him and the police have confirmed that he will be charged to court upon completion of ongoing investigations.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command made this announcement through their spokesperson DSP Timfon John emphasizing the swift identification and arrest facilitated by bank security cameras.
