NSCDC Arrests Suspected Motorcycle Thief and Drug Dealer in Kano’s Kumbotso LGA
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has apprehended two suspects in Kumbotso Local Government Area: a suspected motorcycle thief and an alleged illegal drug dealer.
According to Ibrahim Abdullahi, the NSCDC Kano State Command’s Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made based on credible intelligence.
The motorcycle theft suspect, Usman Abdulhamid, 19, from Yandanko, Panshekara, was caught shortly after stealing a motorbike at Sabuwar Jiddah.
During interrogation, Abdulhamid admitted to being part of a syndicate responsible for motorcycle thefts across Kano.
Authorities recovered four motorcycles from him (three Jincheng and one Lifan Kumata), and investigations continue to apprehend two accomplices at large.
The drug dealer, Salisu Abdullahi, 28, from Semegu, Kumbotso, was arrested at Sabon Titin Dorayi in possession of various psychotropic substances including 100 Paxol 5mg tablets, 30 Pregabalin 300mg, 170 Diazepam 10mg tablets, and one male sex enhancer tablet.
The NSCDC noted that these arrests are part of a broader effort to dismantle criminal networks involved in theft, vandalism, and other crimes threatening public safety. Both suspects are under investigation and will be charged in court upon the completion of the probe.
