The National Students Legislative Council has awarded Hon. Eze Nnaemeka Charles for his outstanding efforts towards the growth of students and the association.
According to reports, the award was presented to Mr. Eze, who is also known as Naniboy, on Saturday, during the association’s inter-campus debate competition.
Speaking during the award presentation, the Chairman of the National Students Legislative Council, Hon. Chukwudi Makata, stated that Hon. Eze Nnaemeka Charles’ award is to recognise his efforts in making lives better for the students, where he has been attending seminars to inspire the students.
He also stated that the organization has been on the move to appreciate the efforts of those who go out of their way to make the lives of Nigerian students better; adding that such would increase their zeal to do more.
Receiving the award, Hon. Eze Nnaemeka Charles, who is a writer, book writer, publisher, movie maker, a businessman and a seasoned politician, expressed his profound happiness to the National Students Legislative Council for hosting such an impactful program and also giving him an award.
He stated that the gesture has given him more spirit to do more.
“Seriously, I will say that I am impressed because the total number of people in attendance, and the quality of presentation of the debaters was really something to write home about. And the winners deserved the award since they prepared well than other contestants. Though I do tell people that every contestant is a winner, so they all are winners. I must admit the fact that I learnt a lot from this event today and I applaud the organizers to keep it up.”
“The event should be an annual event and I will love to support the event next time they bring it up. And they need to bring secondary school students involved because it is indeed a wonderful event and they need to be carried along. I pray the organizers don’t lose hope and I will do my best to support the event because it is a good one to enlighten students.”
He also extolled the sterling performances of ESUT Monitor Newspapers in teaching, nurturing, and preparing future journalists for the task ahead.
“I am impressed with what ESUT Monitor Newspaper is doing. They should keep up the good work and also pledged to support. I will try and see how we can work together to give it a better look.”
