Oba of Lagos Rules Out Atiku’s Presidency, Endorses Tinubu as God’s Choice

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has declared that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will never ascend to Nigeria’s presidency, saying that destiny does not favour him despite his decades-long political ambitions.

Speaking at his Iga Iduganran Palace during celebrations marking 22 years on the throne, the monarch emphasized that Nigeria’s future rests in God’s hands.

Oba Akiolu contrasted Atiku’s repeated attempts at the presidency with the emergence of President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as divinely ordained.

He praised Tinubu for his vision and compassion, noting that the president personally presented his certificate of return to the Oba after winning the election.

Urging Lagosians and all Nigerians to support Tinubu, Oba Akiolu highlighted the importance of allowing the president to fulfil what he described as God’s purpose for the nation.

His statements reinforce the view that influential traditional figures are backing Tinubu, while Atiku’s quest for the presidency continues to face skepticism from some quarters.
