Obaseki Defends “Do-or-Die” Comment on Edo Election.

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has stood by his statement that the September 21 governorship election is a “do-or-die” affair.

He made this clarification on Channels Television’s Politics Today, citing concerns that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would wreak havoc on the state if they win.

Obaseki expressed worries about the APC’s alleged plans to rig the election and criticized the police for bias. “It’s a do-or-die affair because if they win, we’re finished… The level of impunity and recklessness would be unbearable,” he said.

This statement has sparked controversy, with opposition parties condemning Obaseki’s comments.

However, former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged peace and neutrality among INEC and security personnel ahead of the election.
