Obidient Movement Condemns APC’s Threats Against Peter Obi

The Obidient Movement has expressed deep concern over the recent comments made by Felix Morka, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Publicity Secretary, which they consider a direct threat to the life of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election.

Morka’s statement on Arise TV, where he said Obi has “crossed the line so many times and he has what’s coming to him, and whatever he gets, he should manage it,” has been deemed reckless and unbecoming by the Obidient Movement.

The movement views this statement as not only an attack on Obi but also a signal of Nigeria’s descent into authoritarianism under the Tinubu administration.

They demand to know what line Obi has crossed, who drew the line, and under what authority.

The Obidient Movement also wants to know what specific statements or actions of Obi justify the APC’s threats. The movement accuses the Tinubu administration of choosing repression over dialogue, intimidation over engagement, and threats over democratic discourse.

They categorically state that if any harm befalls Obi, his family, or anyone associated with him, the Nigerian government and its agents will be held directly responsible.

The Obidient Movement calls on Nigerians and the international community to take note of the APC’s alleged pattern of threats and hold those in power accountable.

They urge the security services to engage Morka and clarify his statement, rather than sweeping it under the carpet as they have done in the past.

This development comes after Peter Obi alleged that his life is under threat due to his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The Obidient Movement’s statement serves as a strong condemnation of the APC’s actions and a call to action for Nigerians to stand up against authoritarianism.
