“Congratulatory Message to Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, Igwe Edem-Ani Autonomous Community”
Dear Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu,
On behalf of the people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your appointment as the Chairman of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers by His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State.
Since your emergence on December 27th, 2022, you have exemplified the highest standards of traditional leadership and have served as a beacon of hope and progress for your people. Your dedication to the well-being and development of your community has earned you immense respect and admiration.
Your commitment to youth development is particularly commendable. By generously gifting 63 youths from your town ₦1 million each to start their own businesses, you have empowered a new generation and laid a solid foundation for economic growth in Edem-Ani Autonomous Community.
Moreover, your initiative to send eight first-class graduates from your community abroad to further their studies is a testament to your vision for educational excellence. This opportunity will undoubtedly open doors for these young minds, allowing them to gain knowledge and skills that will benefit your community upon their return.
The anticipation of four more graduates ready to leave for further studies in the next few months is equally exciting. Sending them to prestigious institutions in the United States of America and the United Kingdom showcases your commitment to providing the best opportunities for your people.
Your leadership extends beyond education and youth empowerment. Your construction of an ultramodern, free twenty-bed hospital, coupled with your monthly support of over one million naira for doctors and staff since 2019, has significantly improved healthcare in your community. Additionally, your development of infrastructure, such as the 2.1-kilometer asphalt road and water reticulation projects, has greatly enhanced the quality of life for your people.
In the area of security, your investment in procuring a Hilux Van, motorcycles, Walkie Talkies, and other security gadgets for the Edem-Ani Neighborhood Watch has ensured the safety and security of your community. Your efforts have not only protected your people but have also fostered a sense of unity and cooperation.
Your installation of solar lights in Edem-Ani and Ugwunagbo Community, at a cost of ₦12,000,000, has brought much-needed illumination and security to these areas. Additionally, your generous donations to educational institutions, such as laptops and generators for primary schools, and your support for indigent students, reflect your unending commitment to education and youth empowerment.
Your philanthropic deeds, including the establishment of a food bank that feeds up to 250 people daily since 2022, and your sponsorship of the Ogadagidi Children’s Party, which rewards outstanding students, have made a lasting impact on your community. It is no wonder that your people have unanimously agreed to erect your statue in the central place of the community in perpetuity.
As you assume your new role as Chairman of the South East Council of Traditional Rulers, replacing His Royal Highness Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, we are confident that your wisdom, integrity, and compassion will continue to guide your leadership. Your remarkable achievements thus far are a clear indication of the positive impact you will have on the council and the broader community.
We look forward to witnessing the continued progress and development under your guidance. Your leadership will undoubtedly bring about positive change and foster unity among the traditional rulers in the South East.
Once again, congratulations on your well-deserved appointment. May your reign be marked by peace, prosperity, and progress for all.
Signed,
Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jr.
