Ogun Residents Call on VeryDarkman for Water Access, Activist Assures Help

Residents of Isuku, in Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State, have raised urgent concerns over the lack of access to clean water, appealing to popular social activist VeryDarkman (VDM) for help.

A video circulating on social media shows men, women, and children gathering around a small, contaminated stream, reportedly their only source of water. In the footage, villagers repeatedly call out:

“VDM, come and save us. We don’t have water.”

Recognized for his consistent advocacy on social issues and ability to draw attention to citizens’ plights, VDM responded promptly, assuring the community:

“We on our way.”

The online reaction has been widespread. Many Nigerians expressed concern over the reliance on a social activist instead of elected government officials to address basic needs. Comments included:

  • “It’s surprising that people reach out to VDM instead of their House of Reps members, Governors, or Senators. God bless VDM!”
  • “VDM is working on it before you start comparing him to Harrison. Both are doing their part.”
  • “A state with a governor and local government officials shouldn’t need to call on VDM for water. It’s a big shame.”
