Olamide Reveals Why He Ditched Amala for Healthier Meals: “I Can Kill for Broccoli”
Nigerian rap icon Olamide, also known as Baddo, has opened up about his changing food preferences, revealing that he no longer eats traditional heavy meals like Amala.
In a recent interview with YouTuber Korty EO, released on August 3, the YBNL founder explained that while he’s never been a big fan of food, he has developed a strong liking for lighter, healthier meals especially vegetables like broccoli.
“I’m not a big fan of food. I eat veggies. But I can kill for broccoli,” he said during the chat. “I love broccoli, sea bass fish, lamb chops, and even caviar. Those are light meals. I don’t eat Amala it makes me full.”
Olamide explained that he stopped consuming traditional Nigerian dishes because they left him feeling overly stuffed and sluggish. Instead, he opts for meals that support his energy levels and lifestyle.
The revelation sparked reactions online, with many fans surprised by the artist’s dietary shift from local to gourmet options.
The rapper, who has consistently evolved in both sound and style over the years, appears to be extending that transformation to his personal habits, choosing wellness over cultural staples—at least when it comes to food.
