Old 2020 Prophecy Claiming Trump Would Defend Nigerian Christians Resurfaces Amid Rising Tensions
A 2020 Facebook prophecy predicting that former U.S. President Donald Trump would take military action to defend Christians in Nigeria has resurfaced online, sparking widespread debate and renewed attention amid recent international concerns about alleged persecution of Christians in the country.
The prophecy, originally posted by a Facebook user named Maudlyn Adaeze Ekwueme, has gone viral on social media platforms after resurfacing this week. In the post made five years ago, Ekwueme claimed to have seen Trump “swing into action to protect the Christian faith” in West Africa, specifically mentioning Nigeria.
“I saw President Donald Trump swing into action to protect the Christian Faith in two countries in West Africa — Nigeria and another,” the post read.
Since resurfacing, the prophecy has attracted thousands of views and sparked heated discussions across social media, with many users astonished at how closely it seems to align with Trump’s recent comments about Nigeria.
Earlier this week, Trump described Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” over alleged Christian persecution and hinted at possible U.S. action if the situation worsened — remarks that drew global attention and reactions from Nigerian officials.
While some social media users view the old prophecy as an uncanny prediction now coming true, others have dismissed it as mere coincidence or a ploy for online attention. Critics have questioned its authenticity and timing, arguing that similar “prophecies” often resurface whenever global events align with past predictions.
Nonetheless, the viral post has reignited online discourse about religion, politics, and foreign intervention in Nigeria’s internal affairs. The timing of the prophecy’s return, coinciding with Trump’s controversial remarks, has only amplified its spread and relevance.
