Oluwo of Iwo Accuses Ooni of Ife of Affair with Ex-Wife, Questions Child’s Paternity
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has stirred fresh controversy after accusing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, of having an affair with his former wife while they were still married.
In a viral video shared on his official Instagram page, the monarch claimed his ex-wife was introduced to him from Canada as part of a grand conspiracy to undermine him and allegedly end his life.
“They packaged a woman for me. I didn’t know her from Canada. It was a setup. She lived in my house for over three years, communicating with them and plotting my death,” Oba Akanbi alleged.
The Oluwo further accused his ex-wife of poisoning him twice and attempting to assassinate him while allegedly working closely with the Ooni of Ife and his associates.
“They were setting me up with videos and many things in my own house. This supposedly ex-wife was asking me questions in the room, but it was death they sent into my home. She had a child, whom I don’t even know if he’s mine. I have to confirm that through DNA,” he stated.
According to him, after he sent the woman away, the Ooni personally arranged accommodation for her and the child and was allegedly seen with her at a hotel.
The monarch concluded by saying his rift with the Ooni of Ife would “never end,” hinting at a long-standing feud between the two traditional rulers.
