Ondo APC aspirant condemns suspension of Akeredolu’s projects after his death as extreme cruelty.
Wale Akinterinwa, a gubernatorial candidate representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), has voiced concerns about the reported suspension of projects initiated by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Owo, his hometown.
Akinterinwa expressed disappointment over the decision to stop these projects, describing it as unfair and uncivilized. He emphasized the importance of completing these projects as a gesture of respect and tribute to the late governor.
While on a campaign tour to Owo, the administrative centre of the Owo Local Council Area in the state, the ex-Commissioner for Finance underscored this point.
Local residents who welcomed the gubernatorial candidate conveyed their discontent with the neglected projects in their town, highlighting the urgency of their completion.
Akinterinwa pledged to guarantee the fulfilment of these projects in the event of his governorship.
“I will continue where Aketi stopped in Owo. Whatever Aketi wanted to do for Owo but couldn’t, we will accomplish it. When a great leader has passed away, the only way to honour him is to continue the work he was doing for his people.
“It’s unfair for someone who claimed to be loyal to him and took over from him to come and halt all projects in Owo. We will take Ondo State to the next level and prioritise women and youth development. Our people will enjoy the dividends of good governance under our leadership.”
