Orji Uzor Kalu Supports Trump’s Call on Nigeria’s Security Crisis, Backs US Military Action
Former Abia State governor and senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments on Nigeria’s security challenges, particularly the reported killings of Christians in the country.
Speaking to AIT LIVE, Kalu affirmed that Trump’s remarks were accurate, highlighting that both Christians and Muslims have been victims of terrorist attacks across Nigeria.
He stressed that violence in states like Plateau, Benue, and Zamfara underscores the urgent need for international assistance.
“Trump spoke the truth about the killings taking place across Nigeria. The situation has reached alarming levels and requires urgent attention,” Kalu said.
The senator, who describes himself as pro-America, advocated for stronger collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in combating terrorism.
He disclosed that he has privately engaged with influential U.S. figures, including two former American presidents and several senators, all of whom expressed readiness to support Nigeria’s fight against terrorism.
Kalu further emphasized that statements made by an American president are typically backed by intelligence and should not be taken lightly.
He also expressed confidence in Nigeria’s newly appointed service chiefs and security heads to restore stability, while noting that foreign investment continues to show interest in the country though the benefits must reach ordinary citizens.
