Osisogu Osikenyi from Nigeria, emerges President of All Africa Students Union

The All-Africa Students Union (AASU) 14th Elective Congress, held on November 22, 2025 in Accra Ghana, was a winning moment for Nigeria as Comrade Osisogu Osikenyi Enyinanya emerged President.
According to the Press Released By All Africa Students Union (AASU) Chair Person electoral committee Angel Mbuthia, it stated that AASU wishes to formally announce the success and transparency of the first phase of the election for the 14th Elective Congress.
In accordance with AASU’s constitution and electoral guidelines, the elections were for offices nominated by member organizations in good financial standing.
Other winners includes- Secretary General: Divine Edem Kwadzodeh (Ghana), Deputy President: Maraviha Kapaia (Angola),Deputy Secretary General: Alistar Pfunye (Zimbabwe),Vice President of West Africa: Rosaila Djedjo (Guinea-Bissau),Vice President of East Africa: Valentine Mugun Chepkoech (Kenya),Secretary for Finance Administration: Vanessa Kokeo Ajavan (Togo).
The Union also announced that the second phase of the 14th Elective Congress will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, during which several outstanding positions across the Executive Committee and Secretariat will be contested.
“These include Vice Presidents for North, Central, and Southern Africa, multiple Executive Committee Member slots, and key Secretariat portfolios such as Secretary for Education and Students’ Rights, Secretary for Press and Information, and Secretary for Gender and Affirmative Action,” said the statement.
The Union congratulates the elected officers and commends all participating member organizations for upholding the democratic values that have guided the association for over five decades.
National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)Vice president External Affairs Comrade Aneke Kenechukwu congratulates the winner, stating that the current administration has been bringing victory home from both continent and intercontinental. “To God be the Glory, patience is a virtue,” he said, thanking NANS President Comrade Olushola Lodoja for his leadership and guidance.
“Mr. President, Iam pleased to remind you that your tenure has produced two other student leaders at the continental and intercontinental levels through your leadership and guidance to Nigerian students. There wouldn’t have been a better moment to serve as NANS VP External Affairs than this period. Recording this monumental achievement is something to be proud about He emphasized.
The All-Africa Students Union, AASU, is the largest and most influential student movement in Africa, uniting students across the continent, from basic education to higher learning institutions.
Since its creation in 1972, AASU has expanded its presence to all 54 African countries, making it the umbrella organization for all African students.
