Osun 2026: Adeleke Rallies Mass Participation in Voter Registration

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called on indigenes and residents to actively participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the exercise as a critical civic duty and urged all eligible voters to ensure they are captured.

“The 2026 governorship election is pivotal to sustaining good governance in Osun. Voters who have misplaced their cards should get replacements. We all must exercise our rights to protect a listening and responsive administration,” Adeleke said.

He urged residents living outside the state to transfer their voting cards to Osun, stressing that mass participation was vital to retain people-oriented leadership.

“Our voter card is our weapon to show that good governance is possible, as Osun has witnessed in the last two and a half years. We must be ready to stop electoral robbers if they attempt to subvert the will of the people,” he added.

The governor directed state officials and community leaders to mobilize eligible voters, expressing optimism that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would conduct a smooth and credible exercise.
