Outrage in Lagos as Lady Dies After Being Brutally Beaten Over Car Damage in Ajah
A 28-year-old woman identified simply as Juliet has been beaten to death in the Ajah area of Lagos State after a heated argument over a damaged car turned violent.
According to reports, Juliet got into a dispute with an unidentified man on Monday, during which she allegedly smashed the windshield of his car. Eyewitnesses said the enraged man quickly called on some local boys, who pounced on her in retaliation.
The attackers reportedly dragged her to an uncompleted building, where she was tied up and brutally assaulted until she lost consciousness.
“She was already in a coma by the time help came,” a resident told reporters. “Before she could be rushed for medical attention, she was gone. It’s a needless tragedy — they should have handed her to the police instead of taking the law into their own hands.”
Another community source suggested that Juliet might have been under the influence of alcohol during the altercation, which may have escalated the confrontation.
Police officers were said to have arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Three suspects, including the man’s wife, were arrested in connection with the assault.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for a full investigation.
Confirming the development, Lagos State Police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, said the matter is under active investigation, assuring the public that justice will be served.
