Over 150 Abducted Zamfara Residents Seen Pleading for Help in Disturbing TikTok Video Posted by Terrorists
A shocking video has surfaced on TikTok showing over 150 abducted residents of Zamfara State begging for help and urging the government to initiate dialogue with their captors.
The video was uploaded by a notorious bandits leader, Ibrahim Musa, using the handle @Ibrahim.Musa99. It features men, women, and children from several communities Cogon Daji, Danabuce, Kuliya, Bayawa, Magulu, and Gidan Garduwa pleading for their lives from the terrorists’ forest hideout.
Speaking in Hausa, one of the victims, visibly distressed, lamented the abandonment they’ve faced since being kidnapped. “Our leaders are flying around with their families while we are dying of hunger here,” the victim said, adding, “Please, the Zamfara State Government should consider our situation and come to dialogue with our abductors. We are suffering. We are starving. And we are human beings too.”
In what seems to be a calculated PR tactic by the gunmen, the abductee said the terrorists are open to peace talks but feel ignored and looked down upon by the government. “This insecurity, from what we’ve seen, is mainly due to a lack of understanding between the government and these gunmen,” he explained. “They say the government treats them as if they are nothing. But they are ready for dialogue.”
He also revealed that over 150 people are being held in just one of the camps, while some other camps hold more than 200, with some victims “uncountable.”
In a related report, SaharaReporters also highlighted a similar incident in Kwara State, where a terrorist took control of his victim’s TikTok account to post videos directly from the forest. The victim, a popular POS operator known as Yman, was abducted in June 2025.
Yman’s family members disclosed that the kidnappers have been using his phone to make ransom calls and share disturbing videos via WhatsApp. The latest development shows the terrorists uploading at least seven videos on Yman’s TikTok account, boldly revealing their faces and getaway motorcycles.
“He has been calling us using Yman’s line and even sent us a video showing him crying and begging for help,” a family member said. “Now they’ve taken over his TikTok account and are using it to post videos from their camp.”
The audacity of these acts and the use of social media platforms to broadcast criminal activities have raised serious concerns over the state of security in Nigeria and the ability of authorities to protect citizens from such brazen terrorism.
