Pastor Adeboye: I Won’t Be Provoked by Critics or Anger – It’s a Trap to Derail Destiny
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has responded to his critics, stating that insults and negative comments will never provoke him into anger or distract him from his spiritual mission.
Speaking during the July Holy Ghost Service at the RCCG Redemption City in Mowe, Ogun State, Pastor Adeboye urged Christians to avoid anger, which he described as “temporary madness” capable of destroying one’s destiny.
“Some people will do things just to provoke you,” he said. “But anger is a dangerous trap. One of the easiest ways to destroy your destiny is through anger. I won’t fall for it.”
The revered cleric acknowledged being frequently targeted by public criticism but said he remains unmoved and determined to stay focused on his divine assignment. “They are waiting for me to get angry one day—but I won’t. I’m going to reach my goal,” he affirmed.
He also recounted an experience with an African head of state who sought his help for a medical condition that defied treatment. Pastor Adeboye said he turned down the personal request due to his tight schedule and instead referred the matter to a local pastor.
The sermon was widely received as a message of resilience, humility, and focus in the face of public scrutiny.
