Pastor Oyedepo Jnr Claims 17 Years of Marriage Without a Single Argument
Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr, resident pastor of Faith Tabernacle and son of Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed that in 17 years of marriage, he and his wife have never had a single argument.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Oyedepo Jnr recalled a message he once heard while courting his wife. According to him, the preacher spoke on 1 Corinthians 7:28, stressing that marriage would bring “trouble in the flesh.” However, after reflecting on the scripture, Oyedepo Jnr said he made a personal decision that shaped his union.
He explained that he told his wife during their courtship that they would never quarrel, and they made a pact to keep their marriage free of disputes. “Our wedding anniversary was in July, 17 years now, and we have not had one argument. We’ve never had a day where we’re raising our voices,” he said.
Oyedepo Jnr admitted that many people doubted him at the time, insisting that marriage would eventually prove him wrong. However, he maintained that his experience has been different, pointing to nearly two decades of what he described as a peaceful marriage.
The revelation has sparked widespread debate online. While some admired his testimony, others questioned whether such a marriage was truly healthy. One user commented, “This is not the flex you think it is. I don’t even want to imagine the level of accumulated resentment.” Another added, “That can’t be healthy. Even Jesus spoke up when things weren’t right. No man can be God.”
Others, however, defended the pastor’s words, suggesting he may have meant that disagreements never escalated into fights. “I think he meant to say they’ve never had a dispute serious enough to cause conflict,” one user wrote.
The video of his testimony continues to circulate online, fueling fresh discussions on love, faith, and the realities of marriage.
