PDP Governor Predicts Tinubu’s Extended Stay in Aso Rock.

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sparked controversy by stating that President Bola Tinubu will remain in power until 2031.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the Akwa Ibom section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, Governor Eno expressed his support for Tinubu, describing him as a “people-loving President” who will complete eight years in office.

Eno’s comments come amidst speculation about the 2027 presidential election. Some have interpreted his statement as suggesting Tinubu might seek re-election or extend his stay in office beyond the constitutionally mandated term limits. Other politicians have weighed in on the topic.

For instance, Chief Eze Igbokwe has also said Tinubu will remain in Aso Rock after 2027, advising those scheming for the presidency to “go and rest” since there’s no vacancy.

Meanwhile, PDP chieftain Dele Momodu has raised questions about the loyalty of the PDP Governors Forum, suggesting they might be working in favor of President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

This speculation follows the forum’s decision to reject an opposition coalition led by former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar .
