PDP Urges Tinubu to Investigate and Recover N25 Trillion Allegedly Misappropriated by APC Leaders in New Year Message
In a New Year message titled “Address Insecurity, Fuel, Food Crisis,” the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to investigate and reclaim over N25 trillion reportedly embezzled by leaders and officials of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, emphasized the need for the president to tackle urgent challenges such as insecurity, food shortages, and fuel supply to alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians.
While extending New Year greetings, PDP urged Tinubu to start the year with decisive actions to reduce fuel prices, combat widespread hunger, and implement effective security measures to protect lives and property.
The PDP criticized the president’s previous addresses, describing them as filled with empty promises and lacking actionable plans for addressing key issues such as insecurity, economic revival, job creation, and electoral integrity.
They urged the president to confront the ongoing corruption, fiscal mismanagement, and the misallocation of resources that have contributed to the suffering of Nigerians.
The party also challenged Tinubu to account for the funds obtained from the removal of fuel subsidies and called for an investigation into the over N25 trillion allegedly misappropriated by APC leaders, whom they accused of exploiting government agencies for personal gain while the populace endures poverty and hunger.
The PDP expressed concerns over the government’s failure to address allegations of state-sponsored violence, particularly referencing the tragic events surrounding the EndSars protests in 2020. Despite these challenges, the party encouraged Nigerians to maintain their faith in the nation.
