Popular Nollywood actor Emmanuel France is dead.

Nigerian film industry mourns the loss of veteran actor Emmanuel France. Filmmaker Femi Ogedengbe announced France’s passing on his Instagram page, sharing fond memories of their time together.

In a heartfelt tribute, Ogedengbe recalled their collaboration on three films in Tanzania in 2006: She Is My Sister, The Director, and Cross My Sin. He described France as one of Nollywood’s legends, expressing deep sadness over his demise.

Emmanuel France’s death adds to the growing list of Nollywood practitioners who have passed away since January 2024. Other notable losses include Mr. Ibu, Junior Pope, Sisi Quadri, Ganiyu ‘Ogunjimi’ Oyeyemi, Amaechi Muonagor, and several others, leaving the industry in mourning.
