Presidency Rejects Kwankwaso’s Claim of Northern Neglect, Highlights Massive Projects in Region

The Presidency has firmly rejected accusations made by former Kano State Governor and NNPP leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, that the North has been marginalised under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ dialogue on constitutional amendments in Kano, Kwankwaso criticised the federal government for allegedly favouring the South in national development efforts, contributing to rising poverty and insecurity in the North.

He particularly lamented the dilapidated condition of key roads in the region, describing a recent trip from Abuja to Kano as “hellish.”

In response, Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, publicly dismissed the allegations via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating:

“SENATOR KWANKWOSO. YOU ARE WRONG. NORTH NOT NEGLECTED. PRESIDENT TINUBU HAS THE NORTH COVERED.”

The Presidency also pointed to health sector investments in major institutions such as Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (Zaria), University of Jos Teaching Hospital, and Federal Medical Centre (Nguru). Over 1,000 primary healthcare centres in the North are also undergoing revitalisation.
