President Tinubu Pledges Strong Fight Against Terrorism Amid Record Economic Growth

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured the United States of Nigeria’s unwavering determination to combat terrorism, signaling a firm commitment to national security.

His statement comes amid international concerns over ongoing security challenges in the country.

Speaking in Abuja, President Tinubu stressed that despite political hurdles, his administration will maintain strong engagement with global partners to safeguard Nigeria’s stability.

The announcement followed the swearing-in of two new federal ministers and an economic update from Finance and Coordinating Minister, Wale Edun. Minister Edun revealed that Nigeria’s economy expanded by 4.23 percent in the second quarter of 2025 a milestone representing the highest quarterly GDP growth in a decade outside the post-COVID recovery period.

Linking economic gains with national progress, President Tinubu stated:

“Despite political headwinds and the concerns of our citizens, we will continue diplomatic engagement with the world. The oversubscription of the 2.3 billion naira bond reflects growing international confidence. We assure all Nigerians and our partners that we remain committed to defeating terrorism.”

President Tinubu acknowledged the challenges ahead but emphasized that his government will press forward with unity, purpose, and the Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria.
