President Tinubu Unveils New Child Protection Measures Under Renewed Hope Agenda

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s steadfast commitment to child protection, announcing a series of new initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at safeguarding the rights and welfare of Nigerian children.

During a keynote address at the launch of the National Child Protection Week, President Tinubu detailed plans to review and strengthen child rights laws, alongside the introduction of enhanced community-based protection mechanisms.

The president emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach involving government agencies, civil society organizations, and local communities to ensure the safety and well-being of children across the nation.

The future of Nigeria lies in the hands of our children, Tinubu declared. We must do everything in our power to protect them from harm, provide quality education, and create an environment where they can thrive.

Under the new measures, the government will prioritize the revision of existing child protection legislation, increase funding for child welfare programs, and train community leaders and volunteers to identify and respond to risks facing children.

The initiative also includes public awareness campaigns to educate parents and guardians about child rights and available support services.

Child rights advocates have welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that the renewed focus will translate into tangible improvements for vulnerable children.

The administration’s efforts are expected to address pressing issues such as child labor, trafficking, and abuse, while promoting access to education and healthcare for all Nigerian children.

President Tinubu urged all stakeholders to work together in building a safer and more inclusive society for the nation’s youth.

The Renewed Hope Agenda’s child protection plan is set to be rolled out nationwide in the coming months, with regular progress updates to be provided to the public.
