Presidential Aide Expresses Confidence in Tinubu’s Re-election Prospects for 2027.
In a recent statement, Tope Fasua, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Economic Affairs within the Office of the Vice President, conveyed strong optimism regarding the President’s potential for re-election in the upcoming 2027 Presidential election in Nigeria.
Fasua asserted that he is unable to identify any viable candidate or opposition capable of unseating Tinubu in this electoral cycle. During an interview with renowned broadcaster Seun Okinbaloye, Fasua remarked, “I don’t foresee any possibility of [Bola Ahmed] Tinubu being ousted in 2027.”
He emphasized that the opposition lacks an effective platform to challenge the current administration, stating, “I don’t even know where such an effort would begin; ultimately, it would lead to nothing but frustration.”
Fasua criticized the current state of political parties, questioning their capability to present a serious challenge, pointing out, “Which platform are they using?” Last year, Tinubu emerged victorious in the Presidential elections as the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeating notable contenders like Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi from the Labour Party (LP).
