PSM passes vote-of-confidence on Wike for prioritising urban renewal, security in FCT.

The Progressive Students Movement (PSM), a pan-African students organization, has passed a vote-of-confidence on the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, for prioritising urban renewal and security in FCT.

The President of PSM Nigeria, Amb. Bestman Okereafor, in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu, said that “Wike
is among the few ministers visibly working and Nigerians feeling the impact of what he is doing”.

Okereafor noted that the attention of the leadership of PSM has been drawn to a statement issued against Wike over allegations of incompetence in an online platform recently.

“PSM consider such statements and attack on Wike personality as not only mischievous but inimical and politically motivated basically to distract one of the very few visibly performing minister in President Bola Tinubu cabinet.

“It is on record that Wike has continued to prioritise infrastructural development and urban renewal since assuming office, massive commitment towards security with donation of dozens of mobility vehicles to security agencies within FCT.

“Wike’s remarkable achievements has not only exposed past occupants of that office as only misappropriating funds without visible projects with direct impacts on the people, but has equally helped in giving Tinubu’s administration some positive points within the committee of nations.

“Wike has transformed FCT and working towards making it a Federal capital of global standards,” he said.

The PSM boss noted that Wike’s “transformation process of FCT is visible to the blind and have led Nigerians and foriegn expatriates to wonder what the previous administration actually did.”

According to him, this is considering the significant strides he has made within a short period of time.

“Some of his infrastructural strides include but not limited to the introduction of new road networks and revitalisation projects, improvement of security, which undoubtedly made FCT a save haven

“PSM is passing a vote-of-confidence on the performing, proactive, knowledgeably uncompromising, formidable and yet actively willingly willing FCT Minister, Wike, while charging him to remain focus and not be distracted by politically sponsored noise-makers.

“We implore him to continue moving in line with President Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda. We strongly believe FCT must remain in the hands of ‘Mr Project’ for continuous remarkable significant projects,” he added.
