Remi Tinubu Predicts Nigeria’s Prosperity, Says Country Will Lend Abroad by 2026

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has predicted that the country will reach a level of prosperity that allows it to lend money to other nations by 2026.

Speaking in Ile-Ife, Osun State, shortly after being conferred with the chieftaincy title of Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua, she stated that great prosperity lies ahead for the nation.

The event also marked the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and attracted numerous dignitaries.

Senator Tinubu said:
“Today is not a day of long speeches. I thank the people of Ile-Ife and the Ooni of Ife for this honour. Nigeria’s joy has come; by 2026, Nigeria will be in prosperity and we will be lending to other nations.”

The ceremony was attended by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, the wife of the Vice President Nana Shettima, former First Lady Patience Jonathan, governors of Lagos, Osun, and Ogun states, and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole, among others.

Traditional rulers including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun, and the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, were also present.

The Ooni of Ife commended Oluremi Tinubu for her support since he ascended the throne, noting the role of ex-President Obasanjo in supporting the monarchy.

Governor Ademola Adeleke praised Oba Ogunwusi for rebranding and empowering the Yoruba cultural heritage, highlighting ongoing infrastructure upgrades in Ile-Ife, including 14 completed roads and the first-ever flyover in the city.
