Reno Omokri Criticizes El-Rufai for Opposing Rivers State Emergency Rule
Reno Omokri, a former aide to the president, has directed sharp criticism at Nasir El-Rufai, the ex-governor of Kaduna State, regarding his remarks against the recent emergency rule imposed in Rivers State.
In a post on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Omokri accused El-Rufai of inciting public dissent against the federal government while neglecting to persuade his own son, Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives, to formally contest the emergency declaration within the legislative framework.
Omokri ridiculed the former governor, suggesting that while El-Rufai may be attempting to sway public opinion on social media, he has conveniently kept his own family away from the frontline of this political issue.
“He is unable to convince his son to take on this ‘dirty work,’ so instead, he seeks to rally people on social media, demonstrating that your lives and futures are less important to him than those of his own family,” Omokri stated.
This exchange occurs amid rising tensions concerning the Rivers situation, with various political factions debating the legality and justification of the emergency rule instated by President Bola Tinubu’s government.
